About me and what I offer
I’ve always been passionate about two things — learning and people — so I naturally gravitated toward teaching, where my focus and energy could always be on both. After earning a PhD in Linguistics, I was a college professor for over 30 years. In addition to teaching and researching, I mentored too many junior faculty and students to count…and I loved it!
When I retired, I became a Jungian Coach (certified by the Jungian Coaching School International), as coaching seemed a natural extension of the work I’ve done and want to continue doing: helping people reach their goals. And I decided to take a Jungian approach to coaching because I experienced, first-hand, how powerful it could be. I am also an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and, I continue to engage in ongoing professional development so I can further develop my coaching skills to meet the needs of my clients.
My coaching sessions offer a confidential, supportive space where, especially if you’re going through a transition, you might search for answers around the many challenges and opportunities that life presents. We’ll explore the change you’re navigating, and work with images, dialogues, and archetypes, which Jung described as universal patterns and symbols that shape our personalities, behaviors, and experiences, and which appear as recurring figures in myths, dreams, and stories. These archetypes influence our inner world and interactions, and working with them can be extremely liberating.
Sessions are one-to-one and conducted on Zoom at a mutually convenient time. Individual 60-minutes sessions are offered for $110 per session; I also offer two packages: three 60-minute sessions for $300 or five 60-minute sessions for $450.
If you feel called to coaching, please contact me to ask questions or to schedule a free, 30-minute “chemistry” session where we can get to know each other a bit, and you can see if a coaching partnership with me feels right for you.
About Jungian coaching
The psychologist Carl Jung believed that we are not conscious of most of ourselves. Like an iceberg, much of who we are is under the surface, and tapping into and integrating these unconscious parts of ourselves can help us make choices that are aligned with our whole selves.
“It’s your road, and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.”
Rumi is right.. no one can walk your road for you. But as your coach, I’d be honored to walk it with you for a bit!
Being a Jungian coach, I use a variety of tools to help my clients tap into their unconscious in order to find the answers that will lead them to create the lives they want. These tools are playful, yet powerful, and help my clients to quickly discover their own answers to life’s questions. So I ask my clients to bring an open and curious mind, a commitment to honesty and deep reflection, and a sense of humor to the coaching partnership. And I promise to do the same!
