Navigating change?
What brought you to this webpage? Chances are you’re here because you’re facing or desiring a change. In other words, you’re in a period of transition—that uncomfortable “in-between” point where one phase of life—maybe personal, maybe professional — is shifting, but the new phase hasn’t quite begun.
Maybe something—relationship, education, job, or career—is changing or ending. Or maybe life isn’t changing, but you are. You’re feeling bored or restless, and looking for something new—an adventure!—but you’re not sure what that might look like, and you’re feeling stuck.
Why is change so hard?
Change, even change we desire, can be difficult.
One reason is because it involves leaving behind what is known to step into the unknown.
This “unknown” may, for example, be about the work we will do, the people who will be in our lives, or the state of our finances. But it can also be about our identity.
We often identify ourselves by the various roles we play in life, and when a change in life means a change in one of our central roles, we can lose a sense of who we are—a breakup means we are no longer part of a couple, and a divorce, that we are no longer someone else’s spouse. And since we often identify ourselves by the work we do, the loss of a job, a change in career, or retirement can mean the loss a core part of our identity.
It is understandable if you’re feeling stuck because you the losses feel greater than the potential benefits of the new phase of life you’re heading into. But you may also be feeling stuck if you want the change and believe that the benefits it will bring vastly outweigh the losses. It’s as though something that’s not you is running your life, and maybe you’ve come to this webpage because you think that a coach can help and tell you what to do.
If so…you’re partly right! 😊
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life and you will call it Fate.”
What’s really running your life?
Navigating change—personal or professional, wanted or unwanted—can be challenging, and coaching can help.
But if you are struggling to make a personal or professional change in your life, you don’t need someone to tell you what to do.
Instead, you need to discover the unconscious beliefs, assumptions, and patterns of behavior that are running your life.
Transformational Coaching supports this work, which requires looking inward—because that’s where the answers lie and where real, lasting change can take place. I practice a style of transformational coaching based on the work of depth psychologist Carl Jung, and I can help you explore unconscious aspects of yourself, allowing you the freedom to make real life choices.
So, if you’re looking to make a lasting change that’s focused on creating the life you want instead of protecting the life you have, I invite you to work with me to discover insights and develop strategies to make that happen!
Curious to see if what I offer is a good fit for you? Please reach out with any questions you have about a Jungian coaching partnership with me—or to set up a free, 30 minute session.
I look forward to hearing from and working with you!
